The Origin of COVID-19

The pandemic COVID-19 hit the human world, and the humans responded to it with multiple perspective. However, my articles provide all the major observations happening since March until July. I am sure everyone will comply with the “stay home” message, and only essential business should continue to operate. On the other hands, there would be an irregular group who would do the opposite with the society norm. Therefore, media only focuses one aspect of the irregular norm to broadcast, and #stayhome people would be panic when watching those news. I would discuss in this article part 1 about the response between the origins of COVID-19 from Wuhan to human world.

The coronaviruses family can infect humans or animal through severe acute respiratory symptom (SARS). Symptoms such as cough fever are the signal, but they are mild symptoms before the infection begins. Tracing back to the originality of the virus, bats and bat cave are the first sources where the coronaviruses family habituates. The next sources are the moisture areas where wildlife live such as crocodiles, badgers, or pangolin. (Qiu, 2020). For mine workers, they are potentially infected if the mining environment is too moist. The mold could damage the respiratory system, and the corona viruses can infect from the weaken lungs. Since there are a broad and diverse range of coronaviruses family, humans are working very hard to identify the common viral sequence. Before COVID-19, there are other cousins such as MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV-1, and SADS. Because of the biodiversity, the viral sequence are not very similar to each other, and the identical sequence can be found by regions or the viral carriers.

Because of the global scale of the pandemic, global companies and government are working on the prevention guideline along with manufacturing millions of diagnostic testing kits using genome sequencing and PCR. Genome sequence mechanism identifies the fragment DNA nucleotides order. DNA would be stranded by adaptor and primer to stimulate the DNA replicate, and DNA replicate will be compare in the library by computation analysis. PCR is going to duplicate millions of DNA fragment base on the specific primers from scientists.

Abundant of genome sequence research has been trying to identify the fragment DNA of the virus. Researchers all came up with the estimation in term of structure and 3D modeling. Companies are trying to test their vaccines on volunteer patients. With the current research pace, the vaccine would make immune system to fight with spike protein from the common structure of corona viruses. However, corona viruses are very diverse in structures, so there are abundant of spike proteins on different of corona viruses. I guess the phase 3 trial are to test on the human antibody to fight with different spike proteins. Vaccine researches are currently research in China (2), US (1), UK (1), European countries (1).

Scientific research are going to have two groups to work on fighting this coronaviruses. Group one is going to come up with the trial vaccines on human antibody in order to get used to with different types of spike protein in coronaviruses. For group one, the high demand for health care workers are spiking up because doctors and nurses have to monitor patients’ conditions for clinical trial. Group two is going to work on the virus research to collect all the virus data in the wildlife environment. Group two will have to deal with all the frustration coming from humans. The research for group two must collaborate between the government law and the environment regulation. Since the world is fight the pandemic together, those are the major actions happening in the health care industry. Coming out with the vaccine would at least to calm the panic from the human society, and hopefully we all understand how to act during the pandemic instead of short selling all the toilet paper, Germ-x hand sanitizers, or emptying the food shelves at the supermarket.

Outside of the scientific research, the corona virus varies by regions, so government would limit the widespread of virus transformation by the 14-day protocol for foreign travelers. Human cannot identify this novel virus fragment DNA, but we can stop the virus widespread by following the CDC guideline. Even though, it is frustrating, but we are contributing a small effort to stop the viral infection. All the doctors and nurses and researchers are grateful if the infected cases are going down rather than going up.

In summary, if we are not doctors, nurses, or vaccine makers, we can at least stay home and be cautious in the public. We can contribute by reducing the positive cases to the public, so people woud not be panic when looking at the cases online. I know it would be frustrating wearing a mask a whole time and walking 6 ft from everyone. If we want to help more, we can start the small step as taking flu shot. The next thing would be doing the clinical trial for the COVID-19 vaccine, and volunteering the clinical trial are optional. However, researchers can collaborate from the human data for stronger vaccine.

P/s: I wrote this story in May 2020. I have not published it because I was focusing my research on the economy. I would break down the stories so it would not be too long to read. I would publish part two after collecting all the citations.
